Does anyone own a Robot vacuum?

RatHouseCafe asked:

I am interested in buying a Robot Vacuum or a Robot Scuba vacuum, but I don’t want to spend $400 on something that might not work. If any one owns one can you tell me how you feel about it…is it a good buy? I have wooden floors throughout the house and the house is about 1200 square feet, the kitchen, dining and living room are pretty open spaces. Thanks for any of your input.

We have had the Roomba for almost a year and it is great! It cleans very well both on carpets and wooden floors. We have the basic model without the scheduler and that is all you really need. It needs cleaning out every once in a while and you can teach your 12 year old son to do this duty. We had thought about getting the Scooba mopping machine too, but you have to put in detergents and empty it and by the time you do all that, it is probably easier to clean your floor the old fashion way…with a mop. We highly recommend it and would buy it again!
